Joseph Carr Wines

Eric Asimov of the New York Times calls Joseph Carr "A Producer to Watch" and Anthony Dias Blue refers to him as "A negociant on top of his game."  Wine & Spirits Magazine has nominated two Joseph Carr wines as some of the most popular in the US on restaurant wine lists.  Winewriter, Ken Hoggins, labeled him "a Rising Star."

"I spent ten years as a sommelier and another fifteen as a corporate executive for international wine companies, but in 2005 I chose to follow a dream and started our family owned wine company.  I worked with coopers, growers, winemakers and artists I called friends.

I wanted to make European style wines in Northern California, sourcing fruit from Napa Valley and the Sonoma Coast; wines that offer world class taste and are sophisticated, yet approachable.  I wanted to show the value of a negociant and offer wines that taste great and resonate luxury, without an overwhelming price tag.

That first year, I slept on a winemaker friend's sofa, making wines inside Freemark Abbey, alongside Ted Edwards.  Today, we produce all of our wines at Larson Family Vineyards in Carneros, working with acclaimed grower and vintner, Tom Larson.

We are now sold in 40 US states and abroad and are fortunate to grace some of the finest restaurant wine lists in the country.

WOW, what an American Dream!"
