Mason Sauvignon Blanc

Mason Cellars is a family owned and operated winery, founded in 1993 by winemaker Randy Mason and his wife, Megan in Oakville, California.  Following 20 years of winemaking and vineyard management for other distinguished Napa Valley wineries such as Chappellet and Lakespring, they decided to launch their own wine label-Mason Cellars.

Coinciding with the starting of their label, Randy assisted with the  start-up of the Napa Wine Company, a custom crush winery facility in Oakville.  Randy served as CEO, General Manager and winemaker over the course of the next nine years.

Praised by Robert M. Parker, Wine Advocate, as "one of California's better Sauvignon Blancs", Mason owes much of his success to his winemaking style.  Cool fermentations, aging on the lees and a bit of barrel fermentation drive the aromatics and mouthfeel.  The wines remain varietally true, with crisp acidity and an abundance of fruit.  Notes Randy, "My job is to preserve the flavor rather than using cellar techniques to create them".... he goes on to say, "when Sauvignon Blanc is made clean, it goes with every type of cuisine."

In addition to Mason Cellars, Randy Mason also makes Pomelo Sauvignon Blanc
